Certificate Program Information

• Each graduate certificate consists of a minimum of 12 hours of graduate course work in a specific field of study, in addition to any required prerequisites. Students may take the prerequisites at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

• All course work required for a certficate must be completed within three calendar years after the first semester a student enrolls in classes.

• Certificate students may use the completed course work towards an MBA degree. All course work for the MBA must be completed within five calendar years after the first semester a student enrolls in class.

• The five calendar year time frame begins with a student's first 600 level course.

• Classes are fully transferable into the MBA degree program at any point.

• Certificate seeking students may only enroll in courses defined to complete their chosen certificate option.

• Campus Certificate courses meet one evening per week for 16 weeks.

• Class times are either from 4:30 - 7:05 PM or 7:15 - 9:50 PM.

• Most certificate classes are offered in either the Fall or Spring semesters.

• Effective Spring 2010 Graduate Business Certificates are eligible for financial aid.

Application Requirements

• 3.0 Undergraduate Cumulative GPA or above (Conferred Graduate degree in any field waives undergraduate GPA requirement)*
• One set of official transcripts from every institution attended; Must have graduated with a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. (If you are planning on applying to the MBA program in the future, please send 2 official copies from each institution.)
• Application Paperwork
• $25 application fee (non-refundable, check or money order made out to UCCS)
• Resume
• NO GMAT, GRE or other entrance exams are required**

*If applicant does not meet GPA requirement, other criteria will be considered (i.e., additional post-graduate coursework taken, several years of progressive relevant work experience, letters of recommendation, etc.).

** The Certificate program is designed for students who have not yet taken the GMAT or GRE. Students who previously applied to the MBA program and were refused are not eligible to apply.

Application Deadlines

Students must begin the application process 4 weeks prior to the beginning of the semester to allow enough time for transcripts and other materials to be received and evaluated.
