Dr. Eric M. Olson is the Director of the Sport Management Program in the College of Business at UCCS where he also serves as Professor of Marketing and Strategic Management. Prior to initiating the sport management program Dr. Olson spent three years as Associate Dean in the College of Business and eight years as Chairman of the Marketing, Strategy, and International Business Department
Dr. Olson has published over 50 articles and conference proceedings in such prestigious journals as the Journal of Marketing, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Business Horizons, Design Management Journal, Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, Social Marketing Quarterly and Marketing Management among others. His research has been cited in over 500 publications and has been abstracted in Harvard Business Review and the Journal of Product Innovation Management. He serves as the Case-In-Point editor for Marketing Management where he has published marketing cases on Manchester United Football Club, Vail & Associates, the Broadmoor Hotel and Resort, Puma sports shoes and apparel, the All England Lawn Tennis Championships (Wimbledon), and the Colorado Rockies among others.
Dr. Olson received his Ph.D. from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota (1992), MBA from Portland State University (1986), and BS from Lewis and Clark College (1975). Dr. Olson is the recipient of College of Business' Outstanding Faculty Award (2006, 2001, 1998), Outstanding Intellectual Contribution (research) Award (2005, 2000, 1997), Outstanding Service Award (2003) and the Outstanding Distance MBA Teaching Award (2004).

Dr. Glenn Steimling has been involved in sport as a participant, coach, director, and official for countless sports over the past 35+ years. As a youth his sport involvement began with baseball, football, basketball, ice hockey . . . pretty much any game that was being played in the neighborhood. As a college physical education major working with children in the classroom, camp, and recreational settings, coaching was a natural evolution. His first high school teaching and coaching positions came in football, tennis, soccer, and track and field. These teams won league, district and state team and individual titles; additionally several of these athletes went on to distinguished professional and Olympic careers.
Recently he was charged with starting an NCAA D-I women's golf program and produced both a national champion and tournament champion in the program's first two years. Over the past twenty years he has been associated with youth and adult club programs, as well as having taught and refereed more than a dozen sports from the elementary through the university level. Dr. Steimling has an earned doctorate from the University of New Mexico in Sport Management; a Masters in Education from the University of Arizona with a minor in Exercise and Sport Sciences; and Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Plymouth (NH) State University.
Areas of research interest encompass sport law, facilities design and risk management procedures on which topics he has presented papers at international conferences. Currently he is a club volleyball coach and administrator as well as an avid golfer and carries a single-digit handicap.
